GEOPROCESSING APPLIED IN LAND USE CONFLICT AREAS OF PERMANENT PRESERVATION AREAS IN CÓRREGO TRES BARRAS WATERSHED IN BOTUCATU (SP).

ABSTRACT: The present study has the aim to analyze the evolution in 11 years and characterize the land use conflict in Permanent Preservation Areas (PPA) in Corrego Tres Barras watershed, in Botucatu (SP), through color aerial photography for the year 2000 and TM image (Thematic Mapper) obtained by the Landsat-5, in 2011. GIS (Geographic Information System) IDRISI Selva and taking as reference the Forest Code (Law n° 17,727 of 17 October 2012) it was possible to locate the watershed Permanent Preservation Areas. To map the PPA we created a buffer of 50 meters radius in areas of springs and 30 m on each side of watercourses (considering all 10 m), then, we made the intersection of these two maps (springs and watercourses water), resulting in the ultimate statement of PPA. To identify areas of land use conflict in PPA, we overlay the land cover and use x PPA maps trough the operation "Database Query/Area", then, the respective areas calculated. Four classes were identified in 2000 and five classes in 2011, resulting in were 52.77% and 21.35% respectively. During this periods, it was possible to identify the pasture, rice crops and floodplain as conflicting classes in permanent preservation areas in this watershed.
